Hi
I was given a Minnkota Endura 36 (dates to about 2000 I think). When in reverse it is quite noisy and rough. It is fine in forward gears. There is at least a ¼” end play on the propeller.
On examination the armature assembly is able to pull forward ¼”. I assume in forward mode the armature is being pushed back into the housing, only when it is in reverse is it pulling back the ¼” with the resulting loss in smoothness. I am wondering has a part been left out that would take up this slack. I have attached pictures of the assembly. I would be grateful for any help you could offer.
I live in Ireland.
Thanks.
David
