I have a Mariner 25hp 2 stroke 2 Cylinder.....I believe the year is 1998 but would like this confirmed if possible ?
The serial number shown is 09987942.
I would like to find a full manual for the engine to allow me to start a steep learning curve...I would like to understand the workings of the engine, do my own repairs and servicing etc.
firstly there is black tar oil coming out of the propellor when running up the engine via the flush muffs, also the engine is struggling to tick over (I thinks it's something to do with the choke).
Its had a new carb kit last year via a local marine mechanic, but hasn't ever been right and still isn't.
Any help to identify the correct age via the serial number and any suggestions of links to download the correct manual would be Really appreciated.
