5.7L squeal at distributor

I have a pair of 1983 5.7L that have been converted (several years ago) to Delco EST distributors.
Both start and run great, however
The port engine has a distinct squeal at start up. Not all the time but mostly when cold.
The squeal goes away after 10-15 seconds and with a little increase in throttle.
At first I thought it was a belt or maybe the raw water pump but having changed those I am now quite positive it's coming from the distributor.
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on why this is or how to solve it?
Thanks in advance.(no pun intended)

could be a bad bushing in the distributor....cause could be oil restriction due to contaminate build up from poor maintenance/inferior oil....

I'd try to verify the location with a stethescope....an alternative would be to swap distributors between the engines and see if the squeal goes with the distributor...not difficult but could consume a couple hours...
