Mariner 30hp help

Need help finding out what year my 30 hp mariner is ...serial 689L412020 it's electric start & long shaft may have been made by yamaha.
 
Yamaha built, for Merc.

689 - Yamaha model that equates to this - just different paint/stickers - Yamaha model 30AM/30AE (manual, electric start) which they built under their own brand between 1979 and 1985.

L - long shaft model (built for a 20" transom)

412020 - serial number part - sold as a 1984 model Mariner

Merc called this the "Mariner Model 30A" - parts are listed as such

If you are sourcing from Yamaha you have a 1984 Model 30AE.

Thank you galamb for all the info on my mariner 30hp really appreciate your quick answer.Tried to get on yesterday to thank you but wouldn't let me on for some reason.Iv'e been trying to get info on this motor for quite a while so you made my day.
