I have a 4.3 Mercury inboard motor. I have been having problems w one of my starter bolts coming loose. The bolt hasn't broken off, it just keeps coming loose. I tightened it up, and it would start, but while out on the water it loosens itself. This eventually caused stripping. I tried a different bolt, w no luck, so I had a helicoil thread repair done. This worked, but not for long, so the bolt has now come out and I can't get it to grip so it can be tightened. I see online that other people have had the same problem but I haven't been able to find a solution. Any suggestions ?? Thanks !!!
