Engine oil usage

Im having a problem with a 350 engine using alot of oil 3-4 quarts with little run time. Only seems to use it under power. Fine at idle. Any ideas?????
 
Ayuh,.... Do a compression, 'n leak-down tests to check it's rings,....

It ain't leakin' into the bilge is it,..??
 
did compreesion and leakdown, both good, no leak in bilge, it does have lots of blow by under power,cockpit area bad with fumes,
again its only under power
 
Sounds like badly worn valve seals...
with worn valve seals
engine passes compression and leak tests
oil film is sucked down intake valve stem into cylinder during intake stroke
exhaust leaks into valve covers and hence into boat during exhaust stroke, especially under power when there is typically some amount of back pressure, typically 2 to 4 psi worth in the exhaust manifolds/lines.
