help identifying yr and hp of older johnson 18-25hp

im trying to determine the yr and hp rating of this old motor i picked up....its missing the model plate on the transom bracket..the number on the freeze plug is J2707644...and also might be worth noting that the power head appeared to originally be a maroon color....maybe it was replaced at some point?
