I have a 2008 mercury 115hp 2 stroke DPI with a severely cracked cowl. Does anyone know where to source a used cowl ?

List price for a new one is a little over 1100 bucks. I would expect that it would be pricey even in the second hand market (minimally half the price of new unless you find an individual dumping parts from a toasted motor).

Another option may be to find an auto-body guy. Many "hoods" could be repaired with automotive body repair supplies (cloth/resin/hardener) and then refinished.

May be the "cheaper" option.

The top cowl does keep cooties off the powerhead (and keeps you from getting caught in moving parts) so functionality is more important than cosmetics.

Of course if a "blemish" would really bother you and you don't mind spending the money, everything can be replaced.

These are made of ABS plastic and very few materials will stick to it, best to take to shop that does plastic fusion(welding) like on car/truck bumpers
