When engine reaches approx. 25oo rpm the EVC goes in to alarm and limp home is activated. The alarm will reset when ignition is turned off. I have replaced fuel filters, checked fuel tank and hoses. The EVC fault code is 1.7.9. - "Incorrect Fuel Pressure. Relief valve in the fuel system has released or is broken"
Has anyone had this before?
Could it be a failed relief valve or something more sinister?
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like the pressure sensor is defective, if its giving the wrong info to the ECU then you won't get full power as this in turn controls the amount the HP pumps to maintain the correct rail pressure.

I have had the same issue on a different type of electronic engine. It was the pressure sender in my case.
