Water out of the exhaust ports ??

I was told that at idle you will see water there because of the high back pressure that the exhaust would have to overcome going through the prop.

You might wanna think about getting that motor lower in the barrel (jack up trailer tongue or put barrel on something to raise it). That water pump does not suck water up from the intake screens, it pushes water that is surrounding it. Your water level is just about where the pump is located inside the lower unit, if you lose much water from the barrel you will starve the pump.
