I think my lowerunit is hoping out of gear under full throttle. We will be going and then it feels like someone hits the transom with a sledge hammer or I hit bottom (in 45 feet of water). I have worked on these lower units before and know what to look for in worn clutch dog and worn gears this lower unit seemed to be in great shape when I had it apart. I am wondering if I caused this by having my shift cable set to not let the lever go all the way forward (swapped motors and did not check adjustment.. DUMB) Adjustment now correct but is there any tension setting for shiftier on the power head linkage side? My seloc book mentions nothing and I remember nothing, but it has been 18 years since I worked at a marina and its all a bit hazy now.
