Hi I recently aquired my father-in-laws 1955 johnson qd-16. two weekends ago it ran perfect, now this weekend it will not pressurize the tank. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. This is one awesome running motor while it ran. Thank you in advance.

If the fuel tank is low in fuel, it does take a little time to have the engine pressurize it. Could this be your problem?

No, it has 3/4 tank in it. It will run as long as I continue to press the primer on the tank.

And there's absolutely no air being pumped into the tank?

You might remove the air hose from the tank, then run the engine by pumping the primer buttton. This would reveal if air is being pumped to the tank... and if so, then obviously the tank has a leak somewhere... gasket, whatever.

If no air is being pumped from the engine, trace the air pressure hose back to the engine looking for a cracked line. There's a small valve assembly in the front of the engine where that hose connects but I've never heard of one going bad.
