carburetor angle

The new intake manifold they sent me has less of an angle for the carb than the original. How much angle at rest is acceptable on the carb? Must it be perfectly level?

Not giving us much to work with here. You really should add details of your project for your best chance at an intelligent answer.
The angle is on the manifold for a reason. I doubt it needs to be "perfectly level".
Are you sure you got the correct manifold?
There are angle plates available, example......................

Don't know what else you need. Its a Carter carb on a 318. I am not sure of the exact angle, the base on the manifold is angled, just less than the original manifold which placed the carb level at the dock. It is installed and runs but am I over looking some not so obvious issue.

Unfortunately I have the thermostat mounted in the manifold, a wedge would lift the carburetor and affect the thermostat. I did check and they did send me the wrong manifold. I had noticed the different number, emailed them , they responded it would fit. It does 'fit', just doesn't work properly!! Actually, wrong part!
