Oil pressure

I changed my remote oil adapter on the block on a crusader 270hp. Started motor and looks like oil pressure is a little higher and when I rev it up the oil gauge goes even higher fluctuates with higher RPM. I dont remember gauge doing that before. Tried my port engine and when I rev up motor it stays at the same pressure. Is that normal to fluctuate with higher rpm or did I do something when I changed adapter. Thanks Mike

Mike... first... were the two adapters identical?
Was any change to the In/Out ports made?
These are directional!

The SBC oil pump is capable of producing up to several hundred psi.
The by-pass valve is what checks and maintains the correct oil pressure that the oil galleys see.
All of this is predicated on the actual pump's gear system, and the bearing clearances, etc.

Before jumping to the conclusion that the pressure is actually high.... swap the Stbd side oil pressure sending unit with the Port side unit.
Or... test your system with a known-to-be-good mechanical pressure guage.

Yes the adapters are identical. Originally I hooked the two hoses up wrong input /output, ran motor and relized it was wrong. Changed hoses to correct input/output to filter. This is were I am now. Thanks Mike
