okay...so i pulled the lower unit to check out the water pump (impeller) on my 1974 evinrude 50 hp motor, and it turns out that the pump inner diameter is bigger than the OD of the drive shaft it is keyed to. Something tells me this is not normal? I talked to the local dealer that I got the impeller from, and he couldn't understand it either. My question is this: after looking at the impellers online (I will have to order one), how can I know for sure the one I am ordering is the correct size (will fit snug on the shaft)? Thanks.
