I've been doing a lot of reading and can't seem to find the answer to my question.
I have a 1991 OMC 3.0 Model 302BMRRGD. It has the Holly 2300 carb.
I now have it running but it won't idle. Here's my story...
The boat was sitting for about 15 years and had a 1/2 tank of gas, or what was left of the gas.
The carb was shot and I ordered and installed a rebuilt carb (no old gas ever went through the rebuilt carb). Drained the fuel by removing the sending unit and siphoning, which also allowed me to inspect the inside of the tank. The tank was clean and I put 10 gallons of premium in the tank.
I replaced the fuel filter/water separator and put a new fuel filter in the carb.
I replaced the Cap, Rotor, Wires, and plugs and changed the oil.
The engine starts fine, runs at 2000 RPMs fine but won't idle below 1500, it simply dies.
I screwed the idle jets all the way in and it stays running. I know it's not supposed to do this. I'm assuming I need to adjust the float. Thoughts?
