I have a Mariah Shabah Ski Boat with a 4 cylinder Mercruiser engine.
This past weekend we were out and everything was working fine. Then at the end of the day the engine wouldn't start. It was trying to start and seemed like everything was doing what it was supposed to do but just didn't have that last ummph! to start.
While I was being towed in, I pushed in the advance throttle button and pushed the throttle down and it started just fine. Then when I came back to neutral to engage the propeller it quit out. I started it again by pushing in the advance throttle and made it to the dock and trailered it.
Anyone have any idea why it wouldn't start in neutral and then when it did start, it quit out in neutral? I've called 3 different mechanics and gotten 3 different answers. haha. Their quickest time frame on being able to look at it is 4 weeks! (Should've chose a different profession
