360 stall

Yesterday, throttled down from 1500 RPM to 1000 RPM, engine stalled. Fired right back up. 10 minutes later when docking, shifted into reverse, stalled again but fired right back up again. Where should I start? Engine runs smooth - no other issues noted. Would a bad coil or bad ECM cause this? It does seem more electrical because the motor just cuts out.

when was the last tune up (plugs, cap, rotor, check adjust timing and advance, adjust carb, points condensor if so equipped)? if more than 8 months or a couple hundred hours, I would look there first. look into your fuel water separators as well. Its also pretty cheap to put a new ballast resistor on as they have failed on me but dont usually start right back up. same with the coil, when these fail, they usually do so completely or until cooled off.

It's been a couple of years since a tune-up. I'll also check the filters. It felt like more of an ignition issue, because it would start right back up like nothing happened. No hesitation, etc.
