Hello out in boat today noticed sea water pump leaking it looks like it coming from bottom where hose comes in there's a plastic ring it looks like it is cracked also is it a big job to replace pump thanks

I don't want to upset you, but for future reference a couple of $10 seals and 30 minutes work would probably have fixed your old pump. A full set of bearings and seals is maybe 60 minutes and $50.

If you spray graphite on the onion gasket and use silicone grease (dow corning valve lubricant) on the impeller
and spline, then removal for winter layup is much easier. I always remove the impeller and get years of service
before failure. Make sure to check for cracks and always install in the same direction as when impeller was new.

You can get most bearings and seals from your local bearing shop. Often a fraction of the Volvo price and same or better quality.
