Velvet 1.5 to 1 transmissions

Hello,

Does anyone know the difference between these transmission part numbers? Are they interchangeable?

1017-005 vice 1017-006? (Borg Warner 1.52 to 1)

My right hand transmission is squealing at low rpm (1017-005 currently installed) and I have acquired a (1017-006), can I use a 006 vice a 005?

My right engine turns clockwise when standing behind it (RH/CW) rotation.

I think it can. There is not much info on the 006 model #. I think that # was used for trans shipped from the factory with the pump set for a left hand engine. I looked around and found this old install manual. http://www.kp44.org/ftp/VelvetDriveInstallationManual.pdf It says that except for one model they can either rotation. What goes in is what you get out. Just index the pump. In your case since you want it to run right hand the pump is set to left hand. Its nuts but velvet drive references pump rotation looking at the front of the input shaft. Everything else, engine, trans & prop rotation is referenced looking towards the bow.
