1886 4hp force float adjustment

The drop. It should be almost touching the post that goes through the center of the post.
The level it should be 90d while the carb is upside down.
The air screw should be set at about 1 and 1/8th out from just seated.
Make sure the TINY holes in the jets are open.

thanks.......... I will try it, the carb looked clean, it was running rich trimmed it out with the idle screw to make it run, then it would not idle. I took it apart cleaned everything and ran a small wire through all the tin holes and cleaned it some more with carb cleaner.

The IDLE SCREW, isin't an idle screw.
It's an air/fuel mix screw.
Set it at about 1 and 1/8th turn out and then adjust from there.
It shouldn't be any more than 2-3 turns out.
Sometimes setting the screw at 1 and 1/8th and raising the idle will work.

it ran great for a mile then it quit on the lake and wouldn't crank, ill work on that again today. it rev'ed good but wouldn't push the 12ft jon boat but about 3-4 mph. when I put in gear it seemed to decrease the rpm's in half. I cleaned the plug before I carried it to the lake. I checked the water pump impeller, when I pulled the shaft out the gear fell out in the gear housing, that wasn't fun but I got it
