carb leaking gas

I have a 35hp 2 stroke mercury outboard that pours gas out of the air intake side of the carb when ran wide open. After a min or so it dies due to flooding I believe. If you unhook the fuel line and trim the motor all the way up and let it sit like that for a min then put it back down it fires back up and will run just off idle without dying, but it is still dripping fuel out of the intake side of the carb. The boat had been in storage for almost 2 yrs. What does this sound like could be wrong with it? A Stuck needle valve or bad float? Any ideas?

I think stuck needle after sitting for two years,so a carb strip and clean would be the way to go.A good soak in carb cleaner and don't forget to blow everything through with air get all the crud out
