Hi, the thread that my top bearing carrier bolt screws into has corroded. It has been repaired by a previous owner with a heli coil but as you can see from the photo there is not much holding the heli coil in? I can't find a replacement lower unit in Australia that is not damaged. My motor has had mostly fresh water use its whole life and is in otherwise good condition. I would like some advise on whether you thing the thread is repairable but either an alloy welder or expoxy weld. It would be good to kep this engine running for another couple of years when I plan to repower.
