Why do I have this bad feeling?

OMC 800 stern drive Model 982461 coupled to 305 Chevy (OMC 200 Model 990260K) which according to what I was able to find is a 1980 model. Was a hydro shift until the PO frankenstein'd this lower unit on. This boat has sat for nearly 13 years and all the seals, gaskets and water pump needs changing. I have a manual on the way but I really don't know if a manual can help me with this. I didn't realize this was here until I started a repaint on the out drive. This unit performed flawlessly before the long dry spell.
