I have no reverse in my motor. I was told the waterpump was replaced and reverse was functional afterwards. when I put the motor into reverse (not running) I can turn the shaft about one third and I hear a click and then it spins again with the same result, click spin click. is this normal? with the motor running at a high RPM it looks like it wants to spin but barely spinning. could this be the prop?
 
No it should not turn more than a bit.-----------Remove lower unit and check the shifting.----Then make sure the lower unit is in nuetral and the control box is in nuetral and assemble.
