omc 128 hp inboard starter problem

Im looking at a 19 ft spectrum with 128 H.P. cobra inboard and owner said starter will not disengage after engine starts what could the trouble be.
 
The starter motor solenoid... (which is also a relay)... may have the ignition by-pass circuit connected to the S terminal, rather than to the R terminal (if so equipped).

If so, and if so equipped.... the ignition circuit may be continuing to excite the S terminal circuit.

Hi guys thanks for your input we all need to help eachother and from our experiences we all know something that can share and help out out boating brothers. Any way i looked at the boat and checked the wiring i losened the bolts and it fixed the problem i guess it needs some shims or something because when i tightened it stayed engaged. Anyhow i didnt buy the boat the floors were soft and all the framing was rotted. Well thanks again keep up the good work.
