Using Valve Cover bolt holes for lifting engine

Hello:

I have disconnected everything and am about to lift the engine.

I am thinking about using two of the valve cover bolt to lift it with some chain. The bolts are 3/8 inch.

Does this sound ok?

NOoooo!, But you can use the intake manifold bolts, 2 at a time on each side I'd suggest. Sometimes there's a factory installed flat lifting tab on the manifold bolts,,, maybe you can pick a couple up?

We could use some additional info, like what kind of engine. that way we could keep you from getting killed using the wrong lift points

Pull the carb and get a lifting plate that bolts to the intake. I've pulled numerous engines that way. Much easier then trying to get chains the right length and into postion on bolt holes.

Bolts are sided by their diameter....

Factory engines usually have lifting points attached, as mentioned above...the carb plate is another option...
