    Default trim not going up

1st post. Just bought a boat w a 2002 8.1l Volvo. The trim switch was working well then at the end of the day when I tried to trim I up it was just making a clicking sound. Trim down works fine. This is the switch on top of the throttle.
    Thanks Joe

I note that no one responded to your first post and I hope you were able to solve the problem. I had the same problem with my boat. If you're still having problems with your trim - it may not be the switch but the relays on the pump itself. Pull them both, take them to an auto parts store (they're standard and a heck of a lot cheaper than the Volvo parts) and replace them both. Should cost you about $20.

Haha, been a while. I replaced the relays and it worked fine for a while then happened again. Turns out the module that the relays go into was cracked so I replaced that and solved it I was Mickey Mouse repair prior but now a new module/harness. Thanks, Joe
