My gearbox does not want to go properly into gear, either forwards or reverse. Currently the lever is stuck in reverse, and the control quadrant on the side of the gear box forward ( as I'd expect) BUT it is not actually in gear. The prop is not driving the boat either forward or back.
I have not liked to force the gear lever. I am fairly certain the problem is in the gearbox rather than in the gear lever control though have not yet managed to disconnect the cable at the gearbox end. The button on the gear lever currently does not want to move in or out,but then it wouldn't anyway whilst the lever is pulled aft and the cable attached to the quadrant on the gearbox forward so nominally in gear.
