Hello all,
I would just like to share some information that might assist others with this model engine.

1. To replace a water pump assembly (impeller, casing, gaskets and seals) you need to remove the lower engine section (gear casing) of your motor.
2. To remove the lower section you must first remove the lower engine cover.
The cover is easy to separate in halves once:
On the Port side,
2.1 Remove the phillips head screw holding the fuel and oil tubing cover in place and slide this cover back towards the boat and out of the way
2.2 On the inside of this cutout remove the bolt holding it to the lower cover
2.3 Knock this cutout out from the bottom to separate from the lower cover section
2.4 Remove the engine tilt wiring at the engine end of the loom
On the Starboard side,
2.5 Remove the phillips head screw holding the linkage cover and remove this cover
2.6 Remove the four bolts holding the lower cover halves together
Remove the Port side half altogether
Swing the Starboard half towards the boat and out of the way
3. To enable removal of the lower section you must next release the gear linkage rod by:
3.1 Putting the throttle level in the forward position on your boat
3.2 The linkage rod holding block and bolt should be visible boat side middle/bottom of the engine
(not from port or starboard sides as documented everywhere else!)
3.3 Remove the bolt and carefully knock the holding block out in the starboard direction
3.4 The block can be removed leaving the linkage rod free to drop down when later removing the lower gear section (this is the hardest part of the job done)
4. Now remove the lower engine gear casing by removing the steering plate and all bolts securing this casing, the rest is pretty straight forward with access to the pump casing etc.
