350 Mag sucking air

I have a 2006 Crownline 240EX with a 350 Mag and BIII drive. When my boat is idling it sounds like it is sucking alot of air into the breather. It is not as noticable when throttled up but that may be because the engine is louder at that time. My old 2004 5.0 Mercruiiser did not do this. This 350 sounds like a jet engine when it is idling. I took it out for the first time last weekend and the guy that was with me said " Wow-this thing sounds like a jet". Is this normal?

What is the IAC muffler? I has the round screen looking wire underneath the plastic cover on top of the engine in place.
 
Take the "Round screen looking wire" off. Start the engine and you will see where the noise is coming from. There should be some filter material there AKA IAC muffler.
