Sea Water Pump Maintainance

How often should you change the impellors on your FWC Sea Water Pumps? The engines are new to me and run cool, between 165 and 180 degrees. BTW 502 CI Merc Inboards. Thanks
 
Depends upon what junk is in the water you use and how often you run the boat....many say its an annual maintenance item; some get away with every other year...I sure wouldn't go beyond that. One "overheating incident" will cost you a lot more than the rebuilt kit.
