Can someone walk me through RE-ASSEMBLING B75 RECOIL STARTER??

Hello....

I've received a Honda B75 K1 with the recoil starter in pieces. That spring looks **nasty**!

Can someone explain the procedure for putting it back together?

I can get the main spring re-wound and installed....but in the reassembly one of the issues I have is the correct placement of the smaller set spring (#7 in the diagram). It seems to just fall down and not stay positioned with its tab in the friction plate (#4 in the image)

I was hoping that someone who's worked on this model rewind could comment.
