1981 Formula F-18 boat w/305 Chev and Mercruiser stern drive. The shifter is original 1981 and has some slop in the shifting from reverse to forward and back, noticeable when docking the boat. I would like to replace this shifter and should the cables be replaced at the same time? What is good shifter replacement for this setup?
