454 xl's

Ayuh,.... They're the Same BBChevys that are powerin' Millions of boats,...

The BBC is the 2nd most popular boat motor ever built, the SBC is #1,....
 
I have over 700 hours on my 454xl's. Never had a issue with them except when a riser leaked into the cylinder. My fault. The 454xl's are easy to work on, fuel efficient, parts are available. Go big blues
 
sounds good, I love the old carb motors, easy to work on. I too had a riser leak and cracked my head on a 318 Chrysler, luckily I was blessed with an inexpensive head and a friend to help me put it back together. I am looking at a 36 pacemaker with 2 454xl's in it. they have 300 hours on them. thank you for the input

Ayuh,.... They're barely broke in,.... figure 3000 hours til the 1st rebuild,....

So long as ya treat 'em Right, of course,....
