Bravo 2 throwing oil out of reservoir

Hi.Bravo 2 drive is throwing oil out of reservoir inside the engine compartment.Lid keeps bursting.Any ideas?

Hi there, Could you elaborate a bit more about the lid keeps bursting? Try a new reservoir cap, you may have a problem with the orange rubber valve on top of the cap/lid.

Ayuh,.... That usually means yer gainin' Water in the drive,....

Drain it, 'n see what it looks like,....

Thanks.I'll get boat out of the water and have a look at oil condition.

Too much heat generated in the drive.

Two questions, are you pulling cooling water for the engine through the drive or through the hull? What Gear Oil are you using?

Hi.Cooling water comes through drive.Oil is quqicksilver Premium gear oil.

The gear oil is gold in color? Yes. There is your problem. Quicksilver HiPerf gear oil only. Surprised you did not destroy the drive.

You're not filling the reservoir with the drive up and then letting it down are you? This would cause an overfill situation.
