Please help me identify my outboard!!

I have recently purchased a boat that has a Johnson 300 V8 with no serial number plate. The silver plug under the cover has "G2275880" on it but when I try and research this on any site I come up with nothing. I'm ready to get the registration on this thing finished, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That even looks like a " high performance " limited edition version.-----These motors were specially prepared by an outfit in Florida called SECOND EFFORT.-------------Post a close-up picture of the side of the cowling.
 
I am sure that I have looked that over (four times!) and I can't find anything else with numbers on it.
