does anyone know how much clearance I need to slide the complete trans & v drive unit back the bolts are rusted and the only good bolts are the bell housing to the engine block, if I can unbolt the bell housing and slide back everything and clear the input shaft I can then take the other bolts out with the trans out of the boat. I know have a lot of questions but my boat is 42 years old and little by little I wish to fix her up to s good as new.

thanks for the reply I guess I will drop the drive shafts pull the complete trans setup and replace all the mounting bolts & transmission mounts there also shot.
