Converting minn kota power drive to ipilot (nonv2-12v)

Can anyone tell me if this conversion is possible or not. I have read on other forums that it is possible, but when I call Minn kota they tell me it's not possible. Any information that I can get on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
 
If MK says no, then I would be inclined to take their word for it. See if there is an authorized MK repair shop near you and if there is, take your motor by there and ask them. They would surely know if it is possible.
