Can you help identify this part? (picture attached)

I have a 50 hp yamaha outboard 2 stroke. I noticed a wire was disconnected not sure what this for? Look like a spark plug. When I try to start the engine the gears make a grinding sound. Can anyone tell me what this is, and how I would go about replacing it? Any help is appreciated thanks in advance.

that wire coming from the coil is for your spark plug, it is a 3 cylinder engine,
make sure that the engine is not in gear,
the grinding sound sounds like when you go to put it in gear but is not all the way
