Year of Honda 8HP 4 stroke

Ended up with a free (estate cleanup) honda 8hp 4 stroke. Can only find a serial number on right side of motor leg, can't find a model number showing a year. It is a Canadian motor and I was able to find a manual for this serial # range but need a fuel line and connections for it, plus I need to add it to my insurance. Serial number #BACS1202441. Motor is mint except for a crack in the top plastic so I would like to get it running.
 
That serial number range could be anywhere from 1990 to 1997. Model BF8AM. You can download the owner's manual for free from this Honda link. http://cdn.powerequipment.honda.com/marine/pdf/manuals/31881722.pdf

The fuel fitting on the fuel assembly that goes to the engine looks just like an Evinrude fuel fitting, but it is not. There are some aftermarket fittings, but I have not seen one to fit properly.

So be sure to get at least the Honda engine side fuel fitting.

Thanks. I found the manual on-line, it was the year that was vexing me as I have gone over the motor several times and could not find the model designation (BF8AM) and my local dealers are not very helpful unless you are buying a boat or motor from them. I have heard that one needs to get the original part, now that I know what to get, I will be able to. Thanks for your assistance.
