I have have optimax 225 dfi that will not start the smartcraft guages are giving me a oil level fault, fuel level fault, and data bus fault on the port side
. both were running fine about 2 weeks ago but went to start them today and the port engine will not start. Ive checked fuses, sprayed contact cleaner on the sensors, and im looking for advice on what to look at next.
 
Either a number of sensors have failed on the port engine (unlikely) which would mean that you could have fried the ECU.

When you say "it won't start" - will it turn over (so the starter is turning and the motor just won't fire) or you get zip, nada, when you turn the key (which could be a harness issue)
 
The data bus error is your problem. The data communication link between the tachometer and engine is not connected or shorted.
Check the line for moisture. Start at the helm.
