I've had this little issue come and go over the last 5 years of owning this boat. It's a 6.0L on a 212 hamilton. Like this summer all has been good then Sunday started motor and noticed tach read like 1400 at idle. THe throttle was all the way closed. While running the river tack read like 5000-5200rpm. Problem is I know the computer limits it to 4600 and in this case I was tracking with GPS at 30 mph which should have given me like 3800 +- on the tack. As the day went on the tach gradule got closer to reading true. Yes I shut key off and restarted after letting sit a few times. I even put boat away with battery switch off and tried yesterday with same thing happening. Any ideas??
