Putting a pee tube on a Force 50?

Can I remove the 1/8" NPT plug on top of the cylinder above the thermostat and install a fitting and a pee tube without causing a problem with the cooling? Also, is there a place on this engine where I can install a sending unit for an electrical water temp gauge? 1987 Force 50 hp, 507B7.

It can also be used as a place for the sender for a temp gauge.
The thermo won't be affected.
Just put a T or an elbow in it.
Then cut a hole and run a hose through it.
Just do it and make sure it's in a place you can see it.
