In 2001 I purchased a new Honda BF25 outboard and it ran trouble free till this year. I knew better but I let it set through the winter without draining the carbs.
It would start fine and run well at low speed, but bog down at wide open speed. I knew the high speed jets were stopped up, so after watching a very good how
to video on taking the carbs apart to clean them I ordered new jets and replaced them. Well the shade tree mechanic got it right because after two trips to the
lake it runs just like before. My question is do I really need to have it vacuum tested since it is running just fine.
