    Default Trim pump help

Mercruiser 5.7 with alpha one out drive. Pulled the trim pump lines and I will get a steady stram when down button is pushed. I get no fluid(but pump runs) when I push the up button. Is the pump bad? It worked great until yesterday. Thanks.

Tap on the valve body w/the handle of a screwdriver...valve may be stuck. How old is the assy? I threw a working assy in the recycle bin last spring...was sitting around taking up space. Motor needed a brush assy. Never got around to it.
Fix minor things (replace wear items for preventative maintenance.) that cause major problems before they break.

I tried tapping it with no change. I don't know the age. I assume original. I've only had the boat a few months.

If the reservior is metal it is old. If it has a white plastic reservior w/single screw on the bottom it could be from the mid 1980s. A new complete assy. from SEI is about $300 and Merc. $450. Search eBay http://www.ebay.com/sch/eBay-Motors-...im+pump&_rdc=1
