a mechanic suggested me to ad

a mechanic suggested me to add marvel mystery oil to my 98-merc engine to lubricate the valve guides and keep it running in top condtion. my question is do I really need it since the engine only has 60-hrs and can it do any damage to the internal engine parts?

" if it is a 4 stroke it will do what he says,that stuff works wonders and helps keep your engine in top shape. i have used it to break free frozen car engines! it sure won't hurt. just a few ozs. if you have a small tank is all it needs. ask the mechanic about the amount to mix. if it is a 2 stroke it could help clean carbon from the rings but it won't really do anymore than a good 2 cycle oil to lubricate things.Jim King "
