Engine stops after several minutes of slow speed trolling.Never had this problem before.

Evinrude 1995 9.9 hp
Starts hot or cold with 12" pull everytime. Idles forever in neutral. Seems that the sweet spot is only about 45 degrees. Then it gets rough from too lean or too rich. Slightly faster trolling speed is smooth & forever. The plugs are a perfect light tan. After about 100 hours on them. Fuel pump is all original 1995 parts. I ordered a new pump kit & have it. I am hoping that is the very slow idle / trolling problem.

Can a old virgin show up as only a very slow speed in gear, problem ? It could troll so slow, that it was painfull to watch the flywheel go in circles.

I got lucky.

Changed pump parts & it runs slow as possible in foward gear again.

The pump diaphram was very stretched out. no holes or tears.
