I have just bought an old Evinrude 4hp outboard. Model E4BRHCTA 1983
The guy I bought it off showed it working. He had it in a tank and it fired up after a couple of pulls and ran ok.
I got it home, on the dinghy and when I tried to start it I gave 5-6 pulls and almost fired but now the cord wont retract.
I have tried to take the case off. I can release the bottom section by undoing screws front and back. However I cannot see how the top lifts off. Unless I can get access to that I cant see how to sort pull cord.
Any help, much appreciated.
