1984 90HP Mercury Outboard Manual Release Valve

Hi Folks, I have an 1984 90HP mercury outboard which has the manual release valve broken off. My question as I am very new to all of this is how do I remove the plastic screw and can I buy a replacement one for it.Any help,. thoughts and recommendations are appreciated. Thanks in advance. I want to make sure that I do not do any further damage.

On the trim pump? Get a wide slotted (flat bladed) screw driver and heat the tip w/a flame enough to melt plastic then place it into the screw stub and hold it a few seconds to let it melt a new slot. When it's cold try to unscrew it.
